Welcome to Okuru! These rules explain how we work together when you create and sell gift cards through our platform. We’ve kept the language simple - no hidden surprises, no tricky fine print.
By joining us, you’re agreeing to play fair, and we promise to do the same.
1. Getting Started
Register HERE and once approved we will set everything up for you based on your requirements.
You may request for a one-on-one training session to familiarise yourself with your Partner Portal.
Keep your login details safe - if you suspect misuse, let us know straight away.
2. What You Can Do
Create and sell digital gift cards via the Okuru App.
Set the value of each gift card - we’ll deduct our 7.5% commission for every gift card sold.
You’re responsible for delivering the products or services promised on your gift cards.
3. What We Do
Provide the Okuru platform to create, sell, and redeem gift cards.
Handle payment processing and gift card management and security and also cover credit card fees so you don't have to.
Pay you 92.5% of each sale within 7 business days.
4. Taxes & Money Stuff
You’re responsible for any taxes (GST, VAT, etc.) connected with your sales.
For good bookkeeping: treat gift card sales as a liability until redeemed.
5. Playing Fair
Please don’t:
Upload anything illegal, offensive, or misleading.
Try to hack, copy, or misuse the Okuru platform.
Share your account access with others.
6. Downtime & Tech Glitches
We do our best to keep Okuru running 24/7, but sometimes there may be maintenance or issues outside our control. We’ll always try to give notice if possible.
7. Data & Privacy
You own your customer data.
You give us permission to use it only to run the platform and improve our services.
We’ll handle personal data according to our Privacy Policy.
8. Ending the Partnership
No lock-in contracts. Either side can end this with 7 days’ notice.
If you leave, you still need to honour gift cards that have already been sold.
If you sell your business, you must inform the new owner about any outstanding gift card obligations.
9. Liability
We’re not responsible for losses caused by events outside our control (e.g., internet outages).
Our maximum liability to you is capped at AU$500 should there be a legitimate case.
Neither of us is responsible for indirect or “knock-on” losses (like lost profits).
10. Disputes
If something goes wrong, let’s try to resolve it in good faith.
You may contact us by email at support@okuru.app or via our Live Chat on our website.
If we can’t, disputes in Australia will go to mediation before court.
11. Legal Bits
These rules follow the laws of Western Australia and are subject to changes. We will inform you of any changes in a fair and reasonable manner.
These rules don’t make us business partners or employees - just independent parties working together.
We may mention your business name/logo in Okuru promotions (unless you tell us otherwise).
